Tina Snover Leads SportsLife Training
by Chad Bonham
SportsLife Leadership is expanding its staff with the addition of sports ministry veteran Tina Snover as Director of Training. Snover officially joined the team in December 2025 and brings over 25 years of executive-level sports ministry experience.
“As SportsLife Leadership has been rapidly growing, I knew we would need someone to oversee training for our community of sports leaders—both staff and volunteers,” Chief Leadership Officer Jimmy Page said. “Tina was someone who immediately came to mind as we were creating this position.”
“She gets things done, executes at a high level, and brings effective leadership to this team.” – Jimmy Page
Throughout a soccer career that has spanned 40 years, Snover first took on leadership roles as a youth soccer coach and referee while still in high school. She was a Grade 8 USSF referee from 2011 to 2015 and currently holds a National USYSA D Coaching License.
As an athlete, Snover was an All-Old Dominion Athletic Conference player. She was also a member of the 1998 USL-2 W-League Lady Charlotte Eagles and competed that summer in Sweden and the Czech Republic.
Snover’s first experience with sports ministry took place as a multi-year FCA intern during college and turned into a full-time effort as an Area Representative for a year after she graduated. She became Area Director over Prince William County at the age of 23 and eventually served as the Multi-Area Director over Western Colorado where she led the expansion of a small staff with just three huddles into a staff of 19 with 80 huddles.
“I’m excited to step into this new role and help disciple our staff, key leaders, and volunteers in their abilities and strengths,” Snover said. “It’s an honor to be part of this global ministry that is diving into a sports-specific approach in order to reach people with the Gospel.”
Snover has been married to her husband David since 2002 and together they have two daughters—Brenae and Lizzie. Page said she is a force within the sports ministry world.
“One of the primary ways we infuse life and build sports communities for Kingdom impact is through training resources and events,” Page said. “We’ve got a number of training programs for our teammates, our staff, and also for sports leaders who are entering the SportsLife Leadership team around the country. Tina is going to take the point on creating, reformatting, and restructuring training components so we can infuse life into leaders and give them the spiritual leadership tools they need.”
“This job is going to evolve over time because right now we have 30 staff members, but it won’t be long before we have 60, and then 90. We’ll have to serve these leaders, disciple them, and train them up.” – Tina Snover
Page sees Snover’s role as a foundational part of how SportsLife Leadership will increase its robust discipleship efforts.
“We’re going to give leaders everything they need from a holistic perspective to bring the Good News to their sports communities—to literally bring Jesus into their sport and bring real transformation for Kingdom impact,” he said. “As Tina helps us from an organizational standpoint, the training resources and events will continue to be designed to work together so sports leaders have everything that they need, number one, to be thriving in their relationship with Jesus, and then secondarily to influence their sport community for Christ.”
“I believe the ministry we do this year will last for generations to come,” Snover concluded. “We don’t have time to just dabble in discipleship. We’ve got to bring a team of people together and get them fired up. We are on Team Jesus, and Jesus told us to make disciples. That’s what we’re going to do.”
