Jimmy Page takes on New Role as Chief Leadership Officer

by Chad Bonham

SportsLife Leadership is taking another significant leap into the future with the addition of sports ministry veteran Jimmy Page as Chief Leadership Officer. Page brings over 30 years of executive-level strategic, organizational, and operational leadership experience.

“I’m extremely excited to have my long-time friend join us at SportsLife Leadership,” President Dan Britton said. “Jimmy will be focused on providing world class, Christ-centered, training resources, and programs that mobilize the hands and feet of Jesus into the world of sport.”

Page is the creator Be Unstoppable Elite Performance and the founder of the Unstoppable Freedom Alliance. He has extensive experience with both marketplace and men’s ministries and was formerly an executive with the Fellowship of Christian Athletes for 17 years.

“I’ve always believed that the world of sports is a tremendous platform for influence!”- Jimmy Page

“I’ve always believed that the world of sports is a tremendous platform for influence,” Page said. “The reason that I entered sports ministry more than 20 years ago was to bring the transformational, life-saving power of Jesus to  the world of sport. When Jesus takes over, you can’t help but  use  your platform for good and for God –  to bring God’s Kingdom here, now.”

Page has co-authored several best-selling books with Dan Britton including One Word, One Word For Kids, Daily Wisdom for Men, Wisdom Walks, Life Word, and Called To Greatness. He is an in-demand speaker on leadership, culture, and human performance for conferences, events, schools, sports teams, churches, and businesses including the NFL, NCAA, NASCAR, YMCA, Intel, Microsoft, Salvation Army, State Farm, OtterBox, Hendrick Motorsports, and the US Naval Academy.

His arrival at SportsLife Leadership is the culmination of a 35-year friendship and working relationship with Britton. Page walked closely with Britton when he was exploring new opportunities within the competitive sports community  and encouraged him to “dream again.”

“We’ve often said that we believed there would be a day when we would be doing sports ministry together in a unique way. So this is truly the fulfillment of a  long-term vision.”

In his role as Chief Leadership Officer, Page will serve as the primary catalyst for developing spiritually-grounded, high-impact leaders across the sports world-modeling servant leadership and multiplying leaders at every level.

Specifically, Page will oversee five key areas within SportsLife Leadership:

  • Leadership development strategy
  • Program oversight and content creation
  • Mentorship and multiplication
  • Team culture and staff leadership
  • Partnership engagement.

“Our entire focus is on sports leaders,” Page said. “They are the multipliers. They are the ones that create culture. They are the ones that develop people and they are the ones with the most influence in the world of sport. When you’re able to invest in leaders with  transformational tools, they grow exponentially and then they have broad influence on others.”

“We’re going to provide resources that address all of that,” Page added. “And then on the flip side, with respect to them leading in their particular sport, depending upon what their role is, we’re going to train them how to operate within that platform in order to bring the kingdom of Christ into that environment in a compelling way.”

According to Page, sports leaders today are under more pressure than ever before. This has especially been amplified at the collegiate level where recent legal rulings regarding revenue sharing have changed the landscape immeasurably.

“Sports leaders need holistic training programs and resources that address all aspects of their life— including their relationships, their health, their mindset,  their work,  and their spiritual growth.” Page said. “They need a holistic approach to life in Christ.”

Throughout his career, Page’s three areas of focus have been leadership, culture, and human performance, which will all continue to be pillars of his work with SportsLife.

“I’ve believed for a long time that the impact and breadth of influence of a coach, athletes, or any sport leader is perhaps the biggest platform available,” he said. “My entire career has involved developing leaders and creating cultures and environments where leaders can thrive and become everything they’re made to be.”

While Page is excited for his return to sports ministry, he’s even more energized to be joining a team of experienced, spirit-led leaders and coming alongside Britton-his long-time friend, co-author, and brother in Christ.

“The team Dan is assembling is truly exceptional. I call it the ‘dream team.’ And Dan and I have truly lived out Proverbs 27:17 – with iron sharpening iron.  We’ve always had a supernatural, synergistic chemistry. We say this all the time, but we’re better together.”

And for Britton, the addition of Page to the team is continued confirmation that SportsLife Leadership is on the right track.

“As we grow, we continue to see just in 10 short months how God is blessing this ministry and bringing men and women who are called by him to infuse life into the world of sports,” he said. “One leader at a time, the best is yet to come.”

Dan Welcomes Jimmy to SportsLife Leadership!
