Executive Trip: Global Impact

Groundbreaking Trip to India and Greece

by CHAD BONHAM

This past December, SportsLife Leadership’s executive team embarked on a historic trip to India and Greece. The 11-day excursion from December 3-13, 2025 marked the first time that President Dan Britton, Chief Operating Officer Silas Mullis, Chief Leadership Officer Jimmy Page, and Chief Sport Officer Carl Perry traveled internationally together to serve in sports ministry.

“There’s nothing like the power of being with. Dan is great at creating that kind of culture. When the four of us can be together, it’s always a powerful time. We always come out better, and God is faithful to show us something He wants to build inside of us.” – Carl Perry

India: Building on Spiritual Hunger

The trip kicked off in Bangalore, India, where the executive team spent six days serving alongside Country Leader Ezekiel Selvaraj. Their activities included meetings with potential donors and board members, training workshops with athletes and coaches, and ministry to several local soccer teams.

“The ministry opportunity in India is bottomless,” – Dan Britton

“It’s the largest country in the world and there’s an incredible amount of spiritual hunger,” Britton said. “We saw firsthand people leaning in and wanting to serve and be part of something. The Indian people are so kind—they serve well and open their homes and hearts in a way you rarely experience in other countries.”

Britton emphasized the significance of seeing Selvaraj’s vision for ministry in action. “There are some amazing leaders that God is raising up in India to serve,” he said. “Now we’re putting together the pieces—the foundation, the funding, the strategy, and the support to build and scale what God’s already doing.”

Greece: Jiu-Jitsu and Biblical History

Next, the team traveled to Athens, Greece, where they spent five days working with Jiu-Jitsu Field Leader David Said on field ministry and conversations with high-level sports leaders.

“Being there allowed us to see firsthand the growth that’s taking place,” Perry said. “I’ve been working with David for a few years now and the ministry plan for jiu-jitsu is gigantic.”

The team is partnering with Greece’s top jiu-jitsu federation, which includes 5,000 coaches and 50,000 athletes. Following their initial meeting, SportsLife Leadership received an invitation to conduct workshops and training sessions.

Said and the executive team participated in a combined jiu-jitsu and wrestling clinic with 50 athletes, featuring a devotional. The historic location added profound meaning to the moment.

“Every night we’d sit outside on the balcony and see the Acropolis where Paul preached his famous sermon about the unknown god with the original Olympic Stadium right down the street. It was surreal to take our morning run to the stadium.” – Dan Britton

Said reflected on the deeper significance of their visit. “It was a blessing to me and my wife Maria that they could spend time in our home,” he explained. “These four men bring such a high caliber of ministry along with their examples as brothers in Christ. Their presence confirmed what God is already building in my heart.”

Forward Vision

The executive team returned with renewed vision and passion for their mission. “The four of us were able to travel halfway around the world and pray together, share together, and strategize together, which was very unique,” Britton said. “It was absolutely incredible.”

For Page, the trip reinforced a core conviction: investing in relationships with sports leaders is “the name of the game.” “It’s our highest point of leverage and primary focus,” he said.

“We watched as sports ministry unfolded on soccer fields in India and Brazilian jiu-jitsu gyms in Greece, and then we got to invest in those leaders. That’s our job—to encourage and equip.” – Jimmy Page
