“See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.” – Isaiah 43:19
After 34 amazing, miraculous years with the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, it became abundantly clear, after extensive prayer and fasting during my sabbatical over the summer, it was time for me to retire from FCA and start a new sports ministry called SportsLife Leadership.
God revealed it was time for me to embark on a new season of ministry. I believe the Lord sovereignly orchestrated this decision through many circumstances. During my sabbatical, I learned to trust our Lord and realized He won’t let anything happen to me except what passes through His loving hands.
Even though it feels daunting, I am committed to relying on Christ alone for His faithfulness in establishing this sports movement combining my three passions: Jesus, sports, and leadership. SportsLife Leadership’svision is to infuse life into the world of sports one leader at a time. Our mission is to serve sports leaders with world-class, Christ-centered training, resources, and programs.
My prayer is to continue to see the work of FCA expand around the world. I look forward to supporting my six family members, including wife Dawn, who all work on FCA staff. I will continue to champion FCA with great enthusiasm!
I am grateful, honored and humbled to have served with FCA for over three decades, which is truly a gift from God. The memories and milestones are too many to count, and I will always praise the Lord for the blessing of helping shape, lead, and grow this ministry around the globe.
With great anticipation, I am dedicated to a new season of ministry in which I can direct my gifts and talents toward SportsLife Leadership over the next 34 years … or for as long as God gives me breath and energy!
The best is yet to come!
With a Full & Thankful Heart –
Dan Britton
